The aim is to research and admire in their natural habitat the species of mammals residing in the international cetaceans sanctuary. A marine biologist is always on board the motorship.

Fully functional despite being born as a film set, it was used for the promotion of the film being moored in the port of Cannes on the occasion of the 39th Cannes Film Festival, where the film was presented out of competition. It was then transported to the ancient port of Genoa, where it is moored at the Calvi Bridge and can be visited as an attraction. On the whole it makes the idea of what a large three bridges of the second half of the seventeenth century might look like, even if it is closer to a French type vessel than Spanish.
